Indico is a web-based event management system which allows thousands of people around the world to conduct conferences and meetings, sharing materials and collaborating in an easy way. Indico is Open Source, developed at CERN by an international team of passionate developers. It is used by CERN and 200+ other institutes world wide, including the United Nations.

You'll work on the upcoming releases of Indico, with a strong focus on enhancing the functionality of Indico's conference interfaces for its participants and integrating Indico with other Open Science platforms such as Zenodo.

Additionally, as a core member of the Indico development team, you will:

• Actively contribute to a large Open Source project on GitHub.
• Work closely with other developers, prototyping solutions and iterating on them in an agile environment.
• Maintain code repositories and take part in code reviews and testing.

Your profile

Skills:

• Python, JavaScript, React, Git.
• TypeScript (a plus), SQLAlchemy (a plus), Flask (a plus), PostgreSQL (a plus), GitHub (a plus).
• User interfaces & accessibility (a plus).
• Maintaining Open Source projects (a plus).
• Basic DevOps knowledge (a plus).
• Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Software Engineering and IT (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
• Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
